What Do You Need to Complete My Taxes?

What Do You Need to Complete My Taxes?

Our team will need the following information to complete your business and personal tax return.

1. A Prior Year Tax Return

If this is the first year our team is completing your taxes, we like to have a prior tax return on file. This allows us to double check all the information for your current tax return is accurate and there is nothing we've missed.

2. Bookkeeping Information

If bookkeeping is included in your Vyde plan, you can link your business bank accounts or send business bank statements to our team and we will do all the work to categorize your transactions and build your financial reports.

If bookkeeping is not included in your Vyde plan, you will still need to provide our team with your business financial information so we can report that on your tax return. You can provide this information through your tax return checklist.

3. General Tax Information

Our team needs information from you to prepare an accurate tax return and capture the most deductions possible. You can provide most of this information through your tax return checklist. We recommend providing this information to our team as early as possible.

4. Tax Documents

When tax documents begin appearing in your mailbox, please scan or take a picture of these documents and upload them to your Vyde dashboard. In addition to documents like W-2s and 1099s, we will also need year-end information, including:
  1. Merchant account annual summaries (Amazon, Paypal, Stripe, Square, etc.)
  2. Statements for outstanding loans (car loans, business loans, loans from owners, etc.) including the balance due at 12/31
  3. Information on large assets purchased, if not already provided (purchase price, amount financed, date purchased)

The list of documents that could apply to your business or personal taxes is extensive, so we encourage you to check out this overview of tax documents our team may need from you or to view the files attached to this article. As our team is completing your taxes, we will also be on the lookout for any missing information. Be sure to check messages from our team to provide any missing documents or information we might need.
